In a rare case we find the shooting done by 60 Kannada films director B Ramamurthy with actress Tanmayi in the real burial ground near Madhugiri Taluk for ‘Shubra’ Kannada film. The situations demanded the scenes for actress Tanmayi who later became daughter in law of B Ramamurthy family marrying his son Akshay also an actor.


The subject demanded some of the portions for actress Tanmayi to live in burial ground. A dig was also made for the film but later it was covered with some penal fee. It is the disheartened daughter of Suchitra in the film lands up in the burial ground for living. It is her profession in the place of last journey the trauma of life also unfolds. Looking at this young girl no dignity of labour, a priest decides to marry her in the film.


Now it is all in the family. Director B Ramamurthy with traditional background appreciated the zeal of actress Tanmayi. She is ‘Sose’ to him in the family. Tanmayi accepting to perform in this film brushed the memory of how senior actors just admitted them to the role. He also recalled his son Akshay telephoning him from Chennai at a Tamil film shoot where he was supposed to enter the graveyard. He got approval from B Ramamurthy because in art such scenes are common.


Tanmayi a Mysorean in films from ‘Siddaganga’ a qualified engineering graduation acted in films like Halliya Makkalu, Gajapade in the later days.


Akshay son of director B Ramamurthy made debut in ‘Sirivantha’ (remake of Analaguru Telugu) with Dr Vishnuvardhana and Shruthi in lead roles. Later he came up with films like Golmal Gayathri, Ardh Sathya, Limit in Kannada. He switched to Tamil films also to carve a niche in acting.
